CAMFED contracted CMTL to provide customs clearance services for 25 containers from the UK consisting of 860,000 books for onward distribution in Tanzania.

CMTL was required to offload and sort all of the books per school and per standard for each district in the five selected regions (Morogoro, Tanga, Mtwara and Lindi, and Iringa) before commencing the distribution exercise. The transportation exercise involved 50 trucks that were required to distribute the books to five districts against very tight timelines, as some regions had pre-scheduled inauguration ceremonies.
